Mr.N. came around 14PM and brought his new pipe and tobacco he bought.
The tobacco he bought was "Alsbo Gold", suitable for beginners with a flavour of vanilla.
He was in doubt what he ought to do so I showed him how to clean pipes, how to put tobacco, how to smoke etc. He told I that tobacco becomes acrid while smoking so I used the same Peterson pipe and tobacco, let him smoke the same curing tobacco from a low-burning fire. He was impressed by the difference of taste.
He also brought 2 cigarettes of Ukraine(unopened) for I. "Prima light" and "Prima menthol light".
Both actate filters and not recessed thogh they are in midair forms.
The Ukrainian language has the alphabet "I". Click to enlarge.
The former one: 12mg tar and 0.9mg nicotine. American blend with a punch of Burley but not sticky like cigarettes of other former USSR countries. He told I that Ukraine was something special among former USSR countries, a little close relationship with USA. Is it reflected on blend method of tobaccoes of her? The latter one: 8mg tar and 0.6mg nicotine. I was once offered an opened one but the unopened new ones were a little strong with menthol.
Mr.N. and his friend came around 14PM. and brought 2 cigarettes of DPR Korea(North Korea) for I.
He also brought an opened cigarette of Ukraine and told me he will bring an unopened one next time. He told me a very interesting story(he was not sure if it's true) of cigarettes that the antismoke movement doesn't hurt the companies of US. as they have already secured the copyright of the standared size cigarettes.
This is the "King size" Marlboro.
On the other hand, this is a cigarette of Poland. We had a chat about what kind of stamps do collectors prefer if he would take a trip abroad and I explained him about commercial covers, Poste Restante. He could speak Russian and was interested in my collection of Moldova and Transdniestria. He said he will try to smoke pipe tobacco with a pipe he has.
I received an auction catalogue from a company I did not know.
A lot of attractive stamps of China, including the stamps during anti-Japanese liberation.
I have a stock of some of the later issues in full sheets.
I was asked about stamps of U.S.A. when I was chatting in the Internet. She told I that she has a collection of US stamps which her grandmother was collecting. I explained about Banknote Era(1870-1894) and asked her if stamps of presidents are included. Mr.T is coming to my home on Saturday, Mr.N on Monday. Mr.T said he will teach I how to play "WANDER AND THE COLOSSUS", the game which I am not very successful in defeating the colossi.
Mr.N will come with his friend who is very much interested in tobaccoes. He said he will bring a cigarette of Ukrine for I. I was making replies to my guestbook which I had been neglecting for a while. One of the visitor had wrote he likes Dun tobaccoes-"bluenote" and I introduced him "Take It Easy!", another pipe tobacco of Germany.
2 airmails today. One from Czech, a request of illustrated postal cancellations of Japan.
2 covers were enclosed with 500Yen. Maybe he has seen my website and found that I collect tabletennis. Another one was a journal of International Society for Japanese Philately.
The membership list was renewed.
There was an article about the stamps of "Mobile Suit Gundam".
It was explained as follows. "Mobile Suit Gundam began as a television program in April 1979. It established and described elaborate science fiction, upsetting the usual theory of rewarding good and punishing evil as seen in robot animation, and giving rise to a great boom in stories in depth."
